If you’re looking for one of the best Turkish meat kebabs and barbecue restaurants in Istanbul, Beyti Restaurant is about as good as it gets. Started originally in 1945 by Beyti Güler, the restaurant is now a household name when it comes to meat – and he invented the famous Beyti kebab – lamb aged for 12 days and wrapped in fat.

I was very excited to try this legendary restaurant and I got a reservation for lunch. I had no idea what to expect, but I arrived and I received the most friendly hospitality and service you can imagine. Without me arriving anything in advance, they immediately gave me an entire tour of the restaurant (which is a museum on its own), and even showed me the kitchen.

The food was outstanding, and the quality of meat was on another level. After eating, they refused to allow me to pay!

Thank you to the incredible Beyti Restaurant in Istanbul. Highly recommended, the food is without a doubt some of the best Turkish meat ever.
